This week's entries will be made by The Peanut Gallery (Alison, Jacob, Brandon and Tiyanna) and the Flying Ninja Squirrels (De'Andre, Cameron, Aesha, Stephanie).
We had a debate the other week. It was between the north and the south. We learned many things about both sides. We were debate for the souths side. We learned that the reason that the south wanted slavery was because of their economy. If they got rid of slavery no one would pick cotton as fast. We tried to make a point that if we could not pick cotton quick that everyone would suffer. The north argued that industies were the way to go.
This week we learned about different new people in world history. We also learned about the Missouri compromise and the compromise of 1850 that the Missouri compromise which was that Missouri was a slave state, Maine was a free state and slavery was prohibited in the Louisiana Purchase north of 36 degrees latitude and 30 degrees longitude. And also some more about the westward expansion and the problems during it. We also learned about the Abolitionist Movement.
